CO₂ Reduction Initiatives and Metrics

One way we aim to continuously improve is by upholding our commitment to sustainability. We do this by setting and accomplishing goals that help protect the global environment. To that end, we have worked to calculate our organizational carbon footprint according to the standards established by the Greenhouse Gas Protocol.  This means that we have assessed and accounted for the full life cycle of the products that we use and produce from raw material extraction through product end-of-life.  We have committed to setting science-based reduction targets in 2025 (Science Based Targets Initiative).

We recognize that utilizing post-industrial materials is a key aspect in which we can have a positive impact.  Partnering with our customers and suppliers, we have implemented multiple material changes to post industrial and ocean bound resins.  Doing so has allowed us to avoid an estimated 500 metric tons of CO₂ in 2024 (Better World Report).  We also utilize re-usable packaging wherever possible and continuously work with our supply-chain partners to identify logistical improvement opportunities.

Carbon accounting and reduction plans are fully integrated into our annual Strategic Planning and are key metrics that are monitored and reported on both internally and to our customers. The chart below includes Scope 1-3 metrics.  Please also visit our ‘Energy Reduction’ and ‘Waste Reduction’ web-pages to see the actions that we are taking to reduce energy consumption and waste within our facilities.
